I'm so pleased to have found this forum, my experience is that this is a quite a "lonely" disorder. And not an awful lot of people understand my explains those.
I should preface this by letting you know that I have no formal diagnosis of PPPD.(yet?)
My symptoms started almost 8 months ago, whilst at work (desk job). There was all of a sudden a sense of disequilibrium and good amount of queesiness too. Then came the anxiety, the panic and shortly after a few sessions to the physio and a few tips to the doctor.
More specifically I have the following reoccurring symptoms: -Fullness of ears -Tinitus that shifts frequency - A heavy sensation of head - Warmth in neck -Weakness in head, neck and shoulders - A sense of being gently rocked - The desire to pace up and down, masking this sensation.
The advice given to me so far has been wildly varied which only served to increase my apprehension about the symptoms. I've been asked to stretch, to balance on a balance pad, walk, lay down, exercise, drink water.... All of which is sound advice, none of which stopped the symptoms from coming back.
My feeling is that I'm at the height of my 4th "bad episode" today, off work, unable to look after my two small children, feeling anxious, and like there is no one who can help. Today I became very emotional, and I'm hoping I can find the support I need.
Back to the doctor this afternoon, fingers crossed.
Thank you for reading my message, to all those out there feeling similar, I've taken great comfort knowing I'm not alone!

eliuri: well, now that Mt Sinai hospital has developed a successful treatment for Mdds, a long cruise might induce the Mdds..so ill rock in opposite direction...that will of course get rid of the CSD by neutralizing it...So anyhow, bring on those ships

ccube1234: The spinning has not stopped. I'm following up with doctor in a couple of weeks. I took 3 Zoloft today. It should take a couple of days to see if it takes effect.

charliegirl: Hi everyone. I am so happy I have found this forum. I am a female, 56 yrs. old. I know I have BPPV, but this is a real eye opener and a real explanation for my constant feeling of unsteadiness between BPPV attacks.

levade: The benzos work! Oddly enough a low dose of halcion in the morning got rid of dizziness right away! ( But my Dr wouldn't give it to me because it's for sleeping.....gave me Xanax instead........which didn't work nearly as well.
