I was just diagnosed with PPPD at Mayo Clinic two weeks ago. I have been on Zoloft for three months, before I knew I had PPPD. I am taking 135mg daily along with .25mg of Klonipin. I have started doing vestibular physical therapy. My concern is that the Zoloft isn't working, I am still feeling anxious and dizzy most of the day. I wanted to know if anyone has taken Zoloft and how long it took to work. Im considering switching to another SSRI. TIA

It takes 8 weeks or so for the benefits of Zoloft to start working. I've heard that for some it can help to reduce the dizziness while it doesn't always in others. As long as you're tolerating the med and dosage well, and have began vestibular therapy etc. I'd suggest maybe giving it some more time and see if the combo of meds and therapy help in in time as you go. You can always talk to your doctor about how you're feeling and what you should expect from the meds. Hopefully you're seeing a reduction in anxiety symptoms, albeit I don't think you can always expect the meds to completely take away all feelings of anxiety.

I have been suffering chronic dizziness, imbalance, attacks of vertigo and migraines for over a year now. About 10-11 weeks ago my Dr felt this could be PPPD. I was put on Zoloft 75mg. I have started to see some improvement with the dizziness, but as stated it took about 8 weeks or so. My symptoms are decreased but not gone. I am going to ask if an increased dose might finally rid me of this. Fingers crossed. I hope you see results too, but if you read up on PPPD it does take some patients several tries to get the right fix for them. Hope you find relief soon
